“Senior scientist, 40 years at UVA.”

What do you enjoy about working in UVA Chemistry?

Getting together with smart and motivated scientists to do challenging and interesting projects.”

What is a piece of advice that you would like to pass on to UVA students?

“Think about what areas of science you like most and don’t be afraid to change direction. When working on a research project, read as much as you can about related work. This will help you to make constructive input on the direction of your project.” 

What activities do you enjoy outside of work?

“Cycling, running, hiking, playing the guitar.”
