By Delaney Hammond

Graduate student Ian Winchester has been chosen as a trainee for the NIH T32 Training Grant. The grant is provided through the National Cancer Institute.

Winchester will receive funding for an entire year and has the opportunity to renew after that. The grant will include a stipend and cover health insurance, tuition, and fees.

The purpose of the grant is to provide pre- and postdoctoral students with enhanced research training opportunities. As part of the grant, Winchester will complete several cancer-focused courses, as well as attend Cancer Center workshops, journal clubs, participate in the Commonwealth of Virginia Cancer Research Conference, and attend a Cancer Training Grant retreat.

Congratulations, Ian, on this exciting opportunity!
