Congratulations to W. Dean Harman who has been promoted to a chaired professor. Effective January 10, 2023, Prof. Harman will be the William R. Kenan, Jr. Professor of Chemistry.
Professor Harman studied at Stanford University earning a bachelor's degree in 1983 and a Ph.D. in Chemistry in 1987. He joined the faculty at UVA Chemistry in 1989 and served as department chair from 2011-2019. His research specializes in organic, inorganic, and organometallic chemistry.
