Ethan Heyboer

Biography:
Ethan Heyboer is an instructor for Organic Chemistry lecture and the accelerated General Chemistry lab (1811). He received degrees in English and Chemistry at Hope College in Michigan, before pursuing a PhD in organometallic chemistry at Emory University, where he developed novel chiral rhodium catalysts for use in small-molecule synthesis.
At the University of Virginia, Prof. Heyboer is passionate about making the classroom a more accessible experience to reflect the rapidly diversifying landscape of higher education. He seeks to apply evidence-based pedagogical techniques to enhance the learning of students from a variety of backgrounds, hoping to inspire the next generation of doctors, scientists, and thinkers.
