TENURE TRACK ASSISTANT PROESSOR SEARCH IN ORGANIC CHEMISTRY
The Department of Chemistry at the University of Virginia invites applications for a tenure-track position in the field of synthetic organic chemistry with a focus on synthetic methods and strategies relevant to the preparation of complex molecules. This new faculty member will join a Department with existing interdisciplinary strengths in catalysis, drug discovery, chemical biology, and other areas that closely align with organic synthesis. The Department offers a collegial and supportive environment, and many opportunities for collaboration can be found in the School of Arts & Sciences, the School of Medicine, and the School of Engineering.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a subspecialty thereof, a record of excellence in scientific research, and a commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates should also have a well-documented track record of training and expertise in contemporary approaches to synthetic and mechanistic organic chemistry. Assistant Professor of Chemistry, AGF
The Department of Chemistry at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA, invites applications for a non-tenure-track Assistant Professor, General Faculty (teaching track) position, to begin in the 2025-2026 academic year. The primary responsibilities will involve instruction of large lecture and/or lab courses in organic chemistry or biochemistry; the ability to teach both organic and biochemistry is a plus.
Preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience in organic chemistry and/or biochemistry courses. The successful candidate is expected to teach three courses per semester or their equivalent. Start date for the position is August 2025.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and includes full-time salary with full-time benefits. The term of this appointment will be for three academic years with the possibility of renewal. TENURE-TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN CHEMISTRY AND UVA COMPREHENSIVE CANCER CENTER – SMALL MOLECULE DRUG DISCOVERY
The Department of Chemistry and the National Cancer Institute-designated University of Virginia Comprehensive Cancer Center invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the field of drug discovery with a focus on small molecule approaches to treat cancer-relevant targets. The position is part of the UVA Comprehensive Cancer Center investment in drug discovery as well as a component of the University's new Grand Challenge Research Initiatives focus on Precision Medicine.
The new faculty member will join a vibrant, interdisciplinary research community in the Department of Chemistry and be an important member of the UVA Comprehensive Cancer Center.
